10 Causes of Fibromyalgia Your Doctor Doesn’t Know About

Causes of Fibromyalgia Your Doctor Doesn't Know About

It’s expected that fibromyalgia affects almost 10 million people in the United States. Fibromyalgia is typically considered by prolonged pain, mostly muscle pain, fatigue, sleep troubles, brain fog or cognitive impairment, depression and painful tender points all over the body.

Traditional medicine has yet to discover the reason of fibromyalgia and only suggests handling of symptoms through pain prescriptions and antidepressants.

Functional medicine, on the other hand, looks to find the root source of fibromyalgia and other enduring diseases, handling the problem at the origin to restore the patient back to health. As a practical medicine doctor, I’ve facilitated many patients improve from fibromyalgia.  Below are the top ten root reasons of fibromyalgia I see in my health center.

  1. Gluten intolerance

Gluten has been liked to more than 55 ailments and is often called the “big masquerader.” The purpose for this is that the main stream of gluten intolerance symptoms are not digestive in nature, but are instead neurological, such as agony, cognitive impairment, sleep troubles, interactive issues, fatigue and depression.

  1. Candida overgrowth

Candida is a fungus, or yeast, and a very small quantity of it exists in your intestines. When overproduced, Candida breaks down the wall of the guts and enters the bloodstream, discharging toxins into your body and triggering unfriendly symptoms such as brain fog, fatigue, digestive issues and pain. Nearly every one of my patients with fibromyalgia has had Candida overgrowth.

  1. Thyroid

It’s important that your doctor check all six blood markers to precisely measure your thyroid gland’s function. It’s also vital that your doctor use the ideal levels rather than the average reference range when calculating and analyzing thyroid syndromes. Getting my patient’s thyroid levels into a finest range normally improves their fatigue, brain fog, sleep turbulences and depression.

  1. Vitamin insufficiencies

Magnesium, vitamin D and B12 absence are the most mutual vitamin deficits I see in those who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I’ve had numerous patients who absolutely reverse their fibromyalgia symptoms with magnesium alone. The finest way to measure magnesium is a red blood cell (RBC) magnesium level, which can be confirmed through any conventional lab.

  1. Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) and Leaky gut

There are more bacteria in us and on us then there are of our own cells. When these bacteria get out of stability through use of antibiotics or a sugar-rich intake, we can lose our capacity to digest and absorb nutrients, particularly B12. Gluten can cause SIBO and leaky gut and SIBO and leaky gut can lead gluten and other food biases. It’s a catch-22 and a vicious cycle. You must fix the gut first in anybody with fibromyalgia.

  1. Mycotoxins

Mycotoxins are very poisonous materials produced by molds. Conservative eco-friendly mold testing only tests for levels of mold spores and does not test for mycotoxins. I use a urine mycotoxin test in my clinic to decide if somebody has been exposed to lethal molds.

  1. Mercury deadliness

I endorse that all my patients find a biological dentist and have their mercury amalgam contents detached. Mercury is deadly to our bodies and can be one part of the puzzle for those with fibromyalgia. I then mention heavy metal testing using a pre- and post-DMPS urine experiment test.

  1. Adrenal exhaustion

Adrenal fatigue is a result of the prolonged stress. Long-lasting pain is a stress to the adrenal glands, however it’s usually not the first adrenal stressor. The primary stressor is typically something such as food intolerances, Candida, mercury toxicity, vitamin insufficiencies or mycotoxins. My goal is to back the adrenals with adaptogenic herbs while we search for the root source of the stress and correct it.

  1. MTHFR alterations

This is a heritable test you can get though any conventional lab. The more alterations you have to the MTHFR gene the less capable you are to methylate and detoxify toxins, such as mercury and lead. The more changes you have at this gene the greater your necessities for methyl-B6, methyl-B12 and folinic acid in order to keep your detoxification ways working properly.

  1. Glutathione absence

Glutathione is the most serious part of our body’s detoxification system. Glutathione gets reprocessed in our body, except our toxic load gets too high, or we lack GSTM1 and GSTP1, the enzymes required to reprocess and produce glutathione. Captivating glutathione or the precursors (NAC, alpha lipoic acid, and milk thistle) often help dramatically with fatigue.

As you can see from the above list, many of these causes are interconnected, and often there’s no solo root source of Fibromyalgia. Because getting to the root can be difficult, I recommend that you find a functional medicine physician in your area to help discover the root origin for you. You don’t need to undergo unnecessarily or mask your symptoms with pain medicines and antidepressants. There are consultants likes myself who can support you!
